Rev Haller has just completed 10 years at Luther Rice Seminary / University as Assistant Professor of Bible and Theology and Library Director He has recently contributed to The Journal for Biblical Ministry, the electronic journal for LRSU, an article entitled, .The Purpose of the Parable of the Good Samaritan which is a companion article to Did the Rich Young Ruler Hear the Gospel According to Jesus? See Haller.htm

In the Journal for Biblical Ministry(Spring 2009) Hal wrote a review on one of the LRSU graduate's books, Progressive Dispensationalism by Ron Bigalke at Journal for Biblical Ministries-Sp'09.pdf Grace New Testament Commentary(2 vols). See Grace New Testament Commentary

Hal has recently started a blog at http://halhaller.wordpress.com/2010/04/  and hopes to address a variety of contemporary issues.

This fall Hal is scheduled to teach Theology Survey I on campus at Luther Rice which covers the doctrine of God, Christ, the Holy Spirit, and angels.   Hal taught Theology Survey II last semester which included a section of the doctrines of salvation and grace.  His selected text for both courses is Ryries Basic Theology.

Currently, Dr. Max Mills and Dr. Scott Henderson, both FBC alumni, are teaching for Luther Rice. Dr. Mills is an adjunct professor who teaches counseling and Dr. Henderson is a full-time professor of apologetics and chairman of that program.

Hal and Susie are still living in Blue Ridge. Susie is an interior designer. She has done major interior design work for the seminary, but mostly she ministers widely on an informal basis to family, friends and community people. She has hosted a ladies' home Bible study now for several years out of Haller homestead in Blue Ridge, Georgia. They both enjoy the time they are able to spend with their 3 children, spouses, and 4 grandchildren.

The Florida Bible College Alumni Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Diane Bell Uplinger (BA '94) to complete the unexpired term of Donna Peabody Rodgers as Secretary.

After serving with distinction for several years, including hours and hours of behind-the-scenes work to make the first FBCAA Reunion the success that it was, Donna resigned to focus her attention on family and business affairs.  We will be forever grateful to Donna for her invaluable guidance and counsel in getting the FBC Alumni Association reestablished and into the position it is today to serve our alumni so effectively.

Many will remember Diane from her many years on both the Hollywood and Kissimmee campuses.  She shares her testimony with us below:

I was blessed to have loving, Christian parents (Graham and Shirlee Bell) who instilled in me a true love for Jesus and His Word.  As a student at Florida Bible Christian School, I accepted Christ as my Savior and dedicated my life to service for the Lord.  In 1989, I enrolled as a freshman at Florida Bible College in Kissimmee.  While in college, my search for a more intimate relationship with Christ began.  I feel truly blessed to have been given the opportunity to study God's word in the midst of a diverse group of dedicated believers.

After receiving my bachelor's degree in 1994, I gained a position at FBC for the next year as the Special Events coordinator.  After leaving FBC in 1995, I began my career as the Executive Assistant to the Headmaster at Fellowship Christian Academy in Roswell, GA. After 9 years at Fellowship, I moved on to a position with Veritas Ministries and Veritas Classical Schools in Alpharetta, GA.

In 2006, I married my husband, Charles, and in 2007 we welcomed our daughter, Rachel, into our family.  We have just recently moved back to the Alpharetta area after having lived in Orlando, Florida for several years.  We are attending Northpoint Community Church and look forward to getting more actively involved in our new community.  My prayer is that God will continue to use the talents He has given me to further His kingdom as I faithfully pursue Him and work in ministry.

Diane will assume her duties immediately and looks forward to greeting each of the alumni at the registration table of the Florida Bible College Alumni Association Bible Conference in Orlando next September.

The Executive Committee of the Florida Bible College Alumni Association announced today the details of its 2010 Bible Conference.  The Inaugural Florida Bible College Alumni Association Bible Conference will be held over the Labor Day weekend next fall (September 3-6, 2010) at the Ramada Orlando Celebration Resort & Convention Center in Kissimmee, Florida.

"This first conference will focus on the four distinctives that made FBC unique among Bible colleges," explains Joe Alessi, FBCAA President. "These distinctives are Grace, The Clarity of the Gospel, Evangelism, and Faithfulness." Vice President Mels Carbonell added, "Although this event is sponsored by the FBCAA, its appeal will by no means be limited to alumni.  Anyone who values these distinctives will be blessed by this conference. Our alumni are encouraged to invite others to join them at the Bible conference."

The plenary sessions will feature FBC alumni Rev. Mike Minter, Dr. Mels Carbonell, Dr. Stan Ponz, and Dr. Jim Scudder.  Several dozen workshops will be presented to supplement the plenary sessions.
